The AMP Manager Toolkit is a living, community-built resource designed to empower UC Berkeley's managers and administrative professionals. Developed by managers, for managers, it provides curated guidance, templates, and best practices that support leadership, process improvement, and people management across campus.
It's more than a static handbook—it's a dynamic knowledge base that grows with the UC Berkeley community. Every piece of content reflects real experiences, tested insights, and the collaborative spirit of Berkeley's Administrative Management Professionals (AMP).
Community-Driven & Collaborative
The Toolkit thrives on shared ownership. Twice each year—during March–April and October—AMP opens an edit cycle, inviting managers and staff to contribute updates, suggest revisions, or share new resources.
Each submission is reviewed by the AMP Management Council for accuracy, clarity, and value before integration. This embodies UC Berkeley's ethos of transparency and collaboration.
AI-Enhanced Knowledge Access
The Toolkit integrates ChatGPT and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) technologies to make Berkeley's management knowledge accessible in smarter, more intuitive ways.
Instead of searching static pages, users can now ask natural-language questions and receive precise, context-aware responses from the Toolkit's curated database.

The AMP Management Council—a 12-member body of senior administrators and department managers—guides Toolkit maintenance and ensures alignment with Berkeley's operational and cultural priorities.
